When your child has ME/CFS, you need support too.
If your child has developed ME/CFS, you may be feeling frightened, overwhelmed and unsure what to do next.
Suddenly, you can find yourself trying to make sense of unfamiliar information, conflicting advice and decisions you never expected to have to make - while also navigating healthcare, education, family life and the expectations of other people.
I know how isolating that can feel.
When I was navigating ME/CFS as a parent, I often wished there was someone I could talk to who understood the pressures, the uncertainty and how difficult it can be to know whether you’re making the right decisions.
That’s why I’m here.
I now support parents by sharing the perspective, practical learning and reassurance I wish I’d had - helping you feel more informed, more confident in your decisions and, above all, less alone.
You don’t have to have all the answers. And you don’t have to navigate this on your own.
You're not alone
You might be feeling confused by conflicting advice, unsure who to trust or what to do next.
You may be worried about the future - how to navigate education, healthcare, family life and the many decisions that can suddenly feel much harder than they did before.
And at times, it can feel incredibly lonely, especially when the people around you don’t fully understand the situation you’re trying to navigate.
If this sounds familiar, you don’t have to work it all out on your own.
This is a space for parents to find support, practical guidance and reassurance - helping you make sense of your options, feel more confident in your decisions and navigate what comes next one step at a time.
Hi, I'm Caroline
A parent supporting other parents through ME/CFS
My experience of navigating M.E./CFS as a parent began in 2014.
As a single mum, I suddenly found myself trying to make sense of an illness I knew very little about, while navigating uncertainty, conflicting information, healthcare, education and some incredibly difficult decisions.
I didn’t always know what the right thing to do was. I was trying to support my family, protect an important relationship and find my way through a situation for which there seemed to be very little support for parents.
Over the years, I learned a great deal - including how important it is for parents to have somewhere they can talk things through, ask questions and feel supported without being expected to have all the answers.
Today, I use that lived experience to support other parents navigating ME/CFS, offering a friendly ear, practical guidance, perspective and reassurance so they don’t have to work everything out alone.
